Skye n Damien

Attended the cutest wedding today of Skye and Damien Wielstra, all who looked stunning :) Joined in the back of a massive Wielstra photo, I dont think I made an appearance-score one to me.

Had a lovely address on the text 1Thessalonians 5:16-18: "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you"

Which not only brings to mind the song i sing repeatedly on my 6th birthday, but the fact that we must spend our whole lives continually praying. Not in a sense, 24/7 for how can we live dutiful lives, like looking after patients if we are constantly praying, but as the Rev said, not having any gaps in our prayer lives. Which is very true and somethign I must apply more to myself.

safe to say im not the nicest nor the most normal function person after a lack of sleep. night duty was alright just dealing with the aftermath is not that great....the only bright side is that today is a public holiday so i'm going to be paid a lot to stay awake....stay awAAAKE...

Randomly tried on a skirt from my wardrobe coz I do that when I'm bored and found a very worn out receipt in the pocket with some notes on it....  

And this is what it said:God's creative work wasn't done until he created woman. And yes He created woman from man's flesh symbolizing that together, they are ONE FLESH.

 

One is not superior to the other because each one of them is equipped for their various tasks all which lead to our one goal: honoring GodMan gives life to woman, woman gives life to the world.

 

All of which is very interesting coz I know once I was faced with the situation of someone feeling like they're better than me because I am a woman. And theses notes which I've scribbled down tell me that as a woman, I am very important in God's eyes. With man as our head, as directed by God, we are not inferior, we are different as seen in body and mind.

Free time

So I was having a bit of a sulk the other day coz I finally had some time off (shift work sigh why do I do my job???) and nothing was happening. Everyone was busy, and I was at home wasting a beautiful sunny day straight from Gods hands. And I thought...I need a hobby. Now I can all see your minds ticking..surely she has a hobby ...no I just read and I read a lot and it's really quite a lazy hobby. So I decided to take up surfing... DEN DENNNNNNNN (think lame buzzer noise) I just remembered that we are shark capital of the world AND I'm a really bad swimmer so there goes that idea....any one have any other ideas? Dan opted for stealing mailboxes but knowing my track record I'll get caught so that's out to. What should my hobby be?????? In other news I'm just back from a delightful trip to the airport to drop off my lovely cousins Sam n Laura. Hopefully they enjoyed their trip...now their gone I'm really enjoying having my room back hahah just kidding guys it was awesome catching up on our childhood again :) And enjoyed cuddles from my nieceypoo who has learnt to blow raspberries. Unfortunately this occurred all over my face but I'm a cool aunty and just wiped it back all over her in a wet sloppy kiss She loved it. Haha xoxo

albany adventures

a quick post as I'll need some photos to make it interesting and competing with lalie and lissa's cameras is not an option so waiting for some updates from them...but...

on thursday we, that is me, leesha, kelly, dan and lalie set off in my mum's prado for the long drive to albany. Some crazy drivers and an absolute douche with a trailer later we finally made it to the seaside town of Albany. We picked up kara and stole her away from Ant and set off to make our 4x3 cabin home. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much food and little room to sleep but the hot cross chocolate buns we ate at midnight went a long way to cheering our spirits. Lissa arrived Friday morning after church. and we set off to explore the town. Weather was a bit fresh but otherwise lovely. We checked out the mountains and did a yorkie and picked up maddi to babysit. Friday night we celebrated with games and fun and thast bout all i can say coz a lot of saturday was spent recovering. We spent Saturday in town enjoying the warm sun and the large amounts of people. We also drove to Mutton Bird for some fun and photo opportunities. Went spelunking through the bush adn found some dirt tracks to get dirty on. Spent the night TALKING about everything and anything and nothing and it was amazing. These girls are great let me tell you and i got to sneak in a few hours with my favourite biff. Sunday we had a lovely sermon from Rev Pot and a picnic at the beach coz it was a warm 27 degrees. Something extraordinary because I've never expereince warm weather in Albany. Monday was even better coz it was hot, over 30 degreees and after quickly cleanin the cabin and gettin the car jump started we sunbaked at Mutts. Me and Lalie got a good tan from the car as well with the sun beating on us the whole drive home.

So that was a quick summary but nothing can describe or put in words the fun times we all had, even if it was just little things or little jokes or little words like 'valance' that make you never forget the memories. I love you girls, special thanks to you all for the good times.
